Crawl Space Insulation

Cold floors, musty smells, moisture, and rodent damage. Crawl space cleanup, vapor barrier, and insulation done right.

Warmer floors, drier crawl space, cleaner air

Cold first-floor rooms in winter. Musty smells that creep into the living room after rain. Insulation hanging in shreds because rodents found a way in. Floors that feel like ice under your feet in February. Those are the calls we get most often about crawl spaces, and the fix usually follows the same path: clear out whatever has failed, address moisture with a continuous vapor barrier, and reinstall insulation between the joists with proper hangers.

What crawl space customers say

Recent customer feedback from across our insulation work.

★★★★★

E&E didn't just blow new insulation on top of the old mess. They completely removed the contaminated insulation, vacuumed and sanitized the attic, sealed all rodent entry points, and installed brand-new fiberglass.

Crawl Space Insulation FAQs

What signs mean my crawl space needs attention?
Cold floors, musty or damp smells in the first-floor rooms, visible rodent damage, sagging or fallen insulation, and humidity that lingers after a wet stretch are the clearest signs. Floors that feel cold to the touch in winter usually trace back to compressed or missing crawl space insulation.
Do you remove old crawl space insulation?
Yes. When existing material is contaminated, wet, or chewed up by rodents, we vacuum it out, sanitize the area, and address entry points before new insulation goes in. Clean, dry insulation can sometimes be supplemented instead of replaced.
Do crawl spaces need a vapor barrier?
In most Southern California crawl spaces, yes. A continuous vapor barrier on the ground keeps soil moisture from migrating up into the structure, which is what causes the musty smell and the long-term damage. It is one of the most cost-effective parts of a crawl space upgrade.
How long does a crawl space insulation project take?
Most crawl space jobs finish in a few hours to a single day. Removal and rodent remediation add time depending on access and the amount of material to be pulled out. We confirm the schedule before we start.
Will crawl space insulation help with cold floors?
Usually, yes. Cold first-floor rooms in winter (particularly bathrooms and bedrooms over an unheated crawl space) are one of the most common reasons people call. New insulation between the joists, secured with hangers, makes an immediate difference in how the floor feels.
